Fellowship Groups

All Ages: Social Service Ministry
Originally organized as the Sewing Circle of Westminster in 1859, Social Service today is a lively and dedicated fellowship group that knits and sews for those in need. We make caps and blankets for babies born at HCMC, quilts for young adults at Nicollet Square, walker totes for residents of Presbyterian homes, and more… touching each recipient with a personal message of care. Projects can be taken home if that works best for you. All ages are welcome to participate; we’ll even teach you how to knit and sew! Join us:
Every Wednesday morning 9:00 – noon in the SocialService/Middle School Room
Every second Saturday 9:00AM – noon in the Social Service/Middle School Room

For more information, contact Lee Zopf or Sandra Berthene.

Young Adults: WestConnect
This group of Westminster members and friends in their 20s and 30s gathers once a month for fellowship, study, service and events. WestConnect is designed to be an informal way to get to know others and help find your place in the life of the church.

                Fellowship Events

  • AfterHour: We gather each Sunday in the Bushnell Room following the 10:30am service with coffee and light treats and conversation. The second Sunday of each onth the group will meet for a meal or a potluck lunch together.

Older Adults: The Great Over Fifties (TGOF)
TGOF is a fellowship group for Westminster members and friends, age 50 and older. We meet, greet, eat, and enjoy a variety of programs, September–May, on the third Sunday of the month from noon–2:00pm. TGOF will next meet April 21. Lunch is $14. Register in the Heller Commons in January or online through Westminster's website.

All Adults: Dinner For Seven
Enjoy a meal and good conversation and meet new people! The concept is simple: groups of six to eight are formed and meet for dinner (or brunch!) on a prearranged date. A host provides a comfortable place to gather, as well as the entree, and asks the participants to bring a dish to share. Over a meal, new friendships emerge, the sea of unfamiliar faces diminish and our community grows stronger as we learn more about one another. Whether you are new to Westminster or a long-time member, Dinner for Seven could be just right for you! Watch for sign-up notices on the website and in the Heller Commons prior to each dinner.

Beyond Sunday Connections
Formerly Sunday/Monday Connections, this popular event returns with a new line-up of speakers. Would you be willing to trade career, family, and volunteer obligations for a few hours of connection, reflection, and fun? Beyond Sunday Connections gives women the opportunity to connect with each other and to reflect on the connection between their Sunday faith lives and their Monday-Saturday everyday lives. This popular evening begins with a social hour at The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis, followed by dinner. After a presentation by the evening’s speaker, there are small group discussions. Contact Dan Franklin for more information.
