FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Dinner For Eight
Enjoy a meal and good conversation and meet new people! The concept is simple: groups of six to eight are formed and meet for dinner on a prearranged night. A host provides a comfortable place to gather, as well as the entree, and asks the participants to bring a dish to share. The goal is that over a meal new friendships will emerge, the sea of unfamiliar faces will diminish and our community will grow stronger as we learn more about one another. Whether you are new to Westminster or a long-time member, Dinner for Eight could be just right for you! There are several Dinner for Eight evenings planned throughout the year. Check the calendar or contact the church office.

WestConnection
This group of Westminster members and friends in their 20s and 30s gathers once a month for fellowship, service work and fun. WestConnection is designed to be an informal way to get to know others and help find your place in the life of the church. Check the calendar for upcoming activities or contact the church office.

The Great Over Fifties (TGOF)
The Great Over Fifties is a fellowship group for Westminster members and friends, age 50 and above. We meet, greet, eat, and enjoy a variety of programs, September -- May, on the third Sunday of the month from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Contact the church office for more information about fall TGOF programs.

Women’s Retreats
The Women’s Retreat, held twice a year, in the fall and winter, at a retreat center outside the Twin Cities, is a perfect opportunity for spiritual growth, renewal and development, as well as strengthening the spirit of sisterhood at Westminster. Retreats are led by area clergy. Call Sandy Wilson at 612.332.3421 for more information.

Men's Ministries
All Westminster men are invited to participate in programs throughout the year.  Men's Ministries continues a faithful Wednesday morning Bible Study. On the second and third Thursday of each month, men gather for breakfast for a special time of conversation and fellowship. And plan now for the annual fall Men's Retreat, which will be held on October 23-24, 2009 at Presbyterian Clearwater Forest. For more information on Men's Ministries, contact the Rev. Byron Thompson.

Membership Classes
If you are interested in joining the church, this one-time class is for you. Offered throughout the program year and led by Rev. Annika Lister Stroope, membership classes focus on what it means to be a part of Westminster. Contact the church office for more information.

To explore further how you can meet other members and friends and get involved at Westminster, contact Melanie McCall, Coordinator of Fellowship, Communication and Special Events.

AREAS OF SERVICE

Want to help WPC be a truly inviting and welcoming place for visitors and members alike? Here are a few opportunities:

Member Development Team This group plans and evaluates efforts to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel with openness and love to all who would be encouraged to share with us. The group acts as guides and mentors to those who wish to unite with Westminster, coordinating all Membership classes and activities and assisting new members with finding their "niche" in the life of the church.

Hospitality Team As a congregation, Westminster warmly welcomes all who come through these doors. The hospitality groups provide opportunities for new friends to come together. This committee opens Westminster's doors for tours; oversees greeters and fellowship luncheons; coordinates coffee hours, memorial receptions and Silver Service Receptions; and ensures access to this great fellowship is kept open.
