Sunday Mornings

Church School
Classes meet during the Sunday morning Education Hour, 9:15–10:15 a.m. Just prior to classes, kindergartners through third graders meet as a group for a brief "Gathering Time" in the Great Hall and then go to classrooms with their teachers. All other students may proceed directly to their classrooms.

A volunteer team of over 40 teachers has been trained to lead and love our children and youth. Teachers engage the students in age appropriate  stories, activities, music and discussions, and encourage children to apply the lessons to their daily lives.

Children's Church
During the 10:30am service, children ages four through six attend the beginning of worship with their families and then are excused for Children’s Chuch. They are escorted from the sanctuary by staff and parent volunteers for a special program designed for young children.  Parents and staff lead activities that include worship, singing, storytelling and games in a relaxed and nurturing environment.  Parents of children are asked to help lead several times a year.

Westminster Day Camp Registration Form Now Available

Westminster's Day Camp experience teaches Christian values and community to young children in an outdoor camp which is safe and fun! Campers meet at Westminster Church in downtown Minneapolis at 8:00 AM and ride a bus with their counselors to Baker Park in Plymouth. The bus returns to the church at 5:00 PM each afternoon. During the day, campers are in small “family” groups led by two trained counselors. The program, created and directed by Westminster’s Children, Youth & Family Staff, includes story time, crafts, games, nature exploration, music, swimming on the beachfront of Lake Independence and a camper- provided bag lunch in the Dining Hall. All beverages are provided as well as light snacks mid-morning and before the children return to the church on the bus. The campers have rest-time in the cabins with counselor supervision before swimming and games in the afternoon. Click here for the registration form.
